Cook County rescinds order extending the tax bill due date.

The Cook County Treasurer has rescinded her order of February 28, 2017; which extended the due date of the 1st Installment tax bills to March 2, 2018. The extension order was issued after the Chase Bank tax payment system failed on February 27, 2018. The failure lasted for a period of 36 hours. 

Cook County extends the deadline to pay property tax bills.

CHICAGO, February 28, 2018 — Due to a glitch in JPMorgan Chase’s online tax-payment system, the deadline will be extended to 11:59 p.m. on March 2 for anyone paying the first installment of their 2017 Cook County property tax online.
