Board of Review Rule Changes

The Cook County Board of Review has published new procedural rules which will be effective with the 2017 tax year. The changes are intended to assist the Board and will result in speedier decisions. 

Attorney Registration Proposal

Cook County Commissioner Garcia has proposed an ordinance which if adopted, will require all property tax attorneys register as attorneys with the Cook County Clerk’s office. 

Observers question whether such an ordinance would survive a court challenge being that the state of Illinois constitution vest regulation of the legal profession in the Supreme Court.
